Hurts So Good

Its offical today hurts too. After my first training session yesterday, today was a struggle but as the song goes it ‘hurts so good’. It’s seems a bit wrong to say this but its actually rewarding being in pain. Lord only knows when I last used all those muscles, I’m guessing from the pain its been a long, long time.

But I’m really happy about it and I know yesterday I acomplished something, it might only be 20 minutes to some people, but to me it was like climbing mount everest.

So the natural high the body gets from exercising due to the release of dopamine really must be a pretty good natural reaction, because I’m still on a high.

Wikipedia says that the muscle pain is knows as DOMS – Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) is the pain and stiffness felt in muscles several hours to days after unaccustomed or strenuous exercise. The soreness is felt most strongly 24 to 72 hours after the exercise.

Please God let this be the worst of it, before my next session tomorrow.

 

So would I recommend others getting out there and doing it – absolutely!! Check out We:Bo and give it a shot. You have absolutely nothing to loose except maybe a bit of muscle pain, and everything to gain with the dopamine happy vibe.

Pain or not there was no stopping me today. I needed to make some space and what a job that was. I’m lucky enough to have a gym at home but I use the term gym very loosely. Its been a dumping ground for years. That one room that no one dares to enter, you couldnt get in there even if you wanted too with the amount of crap in there. In our house you can just about push the door open, and just lauch stuff from the doorway before running and slamming the door behind you.

So this was the mess that greated me this morning – bearing in mind I’d already spent 2 hours trying to tidy it on Wednesday night so I could have my first personal training sesssion with We:Bo.

But after a lot of reshuffling we have space and order again and more importantly room to have my training sessions.

So I’m all set for tomorrows session.

No excuses now!!
