I don’t know if any of your caught the BBC News Bulletin this morning – there’s more good news for us fatties especially us ones from NI.
Being overweight or obese is a growing cause of cancer in the UK. Cancer Research UK found more than a third of all cases of cancer were avoidable – some 135,000. The charity also found that excess weight now caused 6.3% of all cancer cases – up from 5.5% in 2011.
It said more action was needed to tackle the “health threat” of obesity.
Cancer Research UK found the country with the greatest proportion of preventable causes of cancer was Scotland with 41.5%, followed by Northern Ireland on 38%, Wales on 37.8%, and England on 37.3%.
Scary stuff!! not only did I have a one in 4 chance already – now the odds probably just got higher.
Thank the lord for healthy living again which started with a bang at 6am this morning – and folks if its already hurting now, whats it not going to be like tomorrow???
I honestly didn’t realise how unfit I’d become, I had a fair idea, but this morning confirmed it for sure!! I’m pretty certain for my amazing Trainer Louise Toms (and she was brilliant) – this mornings 20 minute session on We:Bo was probably a walk in the park. For me it was hard – really hard!! But I’m so glad I stuck in there and finished it.
Back again!!! I published this post about 30 mins ago, but I wanted too pop back in for a sec to say how disappointed I am with human kind. It really makes me sick how some people treat others.
I popped to the shop just around the corner and as I approached the pedestrian crossing I could hear the chatter from a car which had there windows open, just pulling up to the crossing (its a rare sunny day in Enniskillen).
The occupier, a man and his 2 young boys were laughing at the comment he had just made and were looking straight at me. “Look at that size of that one”” that was the comment, and they continued to laugh and stare as they drove through the crossing.
I can tell you some things that I am definitely sure off, I might be fat at the moment but that is only a short term thing. That man, driving in that car. He will most definitely be an idiot all his life. What was more shocking was, that this was how he was bringing up his children – to be disrespectful and down right rude to others.
I wish I’d been quick thinking and took a picture of them and named and shamed them. Next time I’ll be ready!!
